This party's main political stance was in opposition to Committee of Union and Progress (CUP). It gained a significant political position during the armistice period and was also pro-Prince Sabahaddin. Meanwhile, Prince Sabahaddin supporters were not the only members of the Ottoman Peace and Welfare Party: Different groups were also involved in the party since it was first founded. In this context, to suggest that the main factor determining the political approach of the party was its opposition to CUP would not be wrong. After the official occupation of Istanbul, the Ottoman Peace and Welfare Party had its political activities suspended like other parties and was unable to establish a close relationship with the Ankara government. In view of this, although the party relaunched its political efforts in Istanbul in 1921, it was unsuccessful and shortly after completely withdrew from the political arena.
