Abstract

In electronics, steerable filters are used in many vision and image processing tasks, such as, texture
analysis, edge detection, image data compression, motion analysis and image enhancement. In steerable filters,
the directional properties of the raw input data can be easily found out, compared to classical low, high and
band-pass filtering approaches, since steerable filters can be considered as band-pass filtering for a specified
direction. In this paper, we have applied steerable filters to boundary extraction of synthetic examples in
geophysics.
