Abstract
Aim:
Immediate loading have become the desired goal to be achieved today, especially in total edentulousim. However, the cost of prosthetic parts and technical precision often removes physicians from immediate prostheses. The purpose of this treatment modality; unlike a classic immediate loading concept, is to evaluate the efficacy of a telescopic based semi-mobile immediate prostheses that enables a quick, cost effective and functional aesthetic immediate loading opportunity without the need for additional prosthetic parts.
Materials and methods:
Six implants (Isy®, Camlog Biotechnologies AG, Wimsheim) were applied to the mandible following clinical and radiographical planning. Four anterior implants were loaded immediately with the aid of multifunctional caps® which were fitted on implant base to obtain a telescopic temporary prostheses. Four anterior implants carried the temporary during healing time. In this way a cost effective, fast, aesthetic and passive semi-mobile temporary prosthesis was delivered to the patient within the day following surgery. 3 months following healing, screw retained, ceramic fused to metal bridge was delivered to the patient.
