Özet

17 Ağustos Depremi sonrasında Deprem Bölgesinde ve depremi yaşamamış bir bölgede yürütülen bu çalışmada, gündelik bilgi içerisinde sorumluluk atıfları incelenmiştir. Katılımcılar Deprem Bölgesi ve Depremi Yaşamamış iki bölgeden, 7-12, 13-17, 18-22, 23-33, 34 ve üstü  olmak üzere 5 yaş grubundan seçilmiştir. Toplam 180 katılımcının cevapları veri olarak kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan üç anket kullanılmıştır.

Depremin nedenlerinde hem doğal Nedenler hem de İlahi Nedenler Dışsal, Sabit ve Kontrol Edilemez görülmektedir. Hatalı Yapılanma Temasında ise katılımcıların bu nedeni büyük oranda yine Dışsal fakat Geçici ve Kontrol Edilebilir olarak gördükleri bulunmuştur. 

Sorumlulukla ilgili cevaplarda, hatalı yapılanmaya dikkat edilmesi, bilinçlenme ve önlem alınmasının önemi ve yardımlaşma ve dayanışmanın rolü çok büyük oranda ifade edilmiştir.  Sorumluluk temaları, katılımcıların geçmiş depremle ilgili herhangi bir sorumluluk almak istemediklerini göstermiştir.

This study was conducted in the Earthquake Region and a non-earthquake region following the Earthquake of August 17th.  It investigated the responsibility attributions regarding the earthquake.  Participants were from the Earthquake Region and from a non-earthquake region, and they were grouped in five age categories as  7-12, 13-17, 18-22, 23-33, 34 and above. The data consisted of the total responses of 180 participants. 3 interviews were constructed for the research.

In the causal dimensions of attributions about the earthquake, both natural causes and divine causes were seen as External, Stable and Uncontrollable.  The faulty buildings theme was thought of as External, but Unstable and Controllable.

Faulty buildings, being conscious about the earthquake, taking precautions, solidarity and helping were the most frequently mentioned themes by the participants.  Responsibility themes showed that participants did not want to take any responsibility for the Earthquake.
