터키는
아시아와 유럽 대륙을 잇고 있는 나라로서 국토면적 78만 3,562㎢(CIA 기준, 남한의 약8배, 한반도의 4배), 인구 8,027만 4,604명(2016년
기준)의 큰 나라이다. 주변의 터키계 민족까지 포함하면 그
수는 약 1억5천에 달한다.
지정학적으로 두 대륙 사이에 위치하여 다양한 고대 문명의 발상지로서 국토 전체에서 다양한 시대의 여러 고대 유적들이 현재도 남아있다.
터키족은
중앙아시아에서 서진을 계속하여 1453년 급기야 오스만 투르크 족이 콘스탄티노플(현 이스탄불)을 함락하게 되고 이어 북아프리카, 동유럽, 중동, 중앙아시아를
잇는 거대한 제국을 이루고 화려한 오스만 제국의 문화를 꽃 피우게 된다. 1차 세계대전 이후 1923년 아타투르크에 의해 첫 공화정이 설립되었다. 종교는 이슬람으로서
정교 분리의 원칙을 고수하고 있다.
언어는 터키어로서 한국어와 동일한 우랄 알타이어계에 속한 언어로서 첨가어의 성격을 가지고 있다. 음식 문화는 중극, 프랑스 음식과 더불어 세계 3대 요리에 속할 정도로 유명하다. 산업은 농업과 관광업이 주를 이룬다. GDP는2019년 10월 743,708 USD달러로서 19위를 기록하고 있다.
Turkey Introduction
Turkey is a country connecting the continents of Asia and Europe, with a land area of 783,562 ㎢ (CIA standards, about 8 times that of South Korea and 4 times that of the Korean Peninsula), and a population of 82.74,604 (as of 2016). Including the surrounding Turkish ethnic groups, the number is about 150 million. Geopolitically located between the two continents, it is the birthplace of various ancient civilizations, and various ancient relics from various eras remain throughout the country.
The Turks continued their strides in Central Asia, and in 1453 the Ottoman Turks finally captured Constantinople (now Istanbul), forming a huge empire connecting North Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, and flourishing the splendid Ottoman culture. After World War I, the first republic was founded by Ataturk in 1923. Religion, as Islam, adheres to the principle of segregation of religion.
The language is Turkish, which belongs to the Ural-Altai family, which is the same as Korean, and has the character of an additive language. The food culture is so famous that it is one of the world's top three cuisines along with Chinese and French foods. The industry is dominated by agriculture and tourism. GDP is ranked 19th at $743,708 USD in October 2019.
