Tam dişsiz bireylerin tedavisinde en yaygın olarak alt üst tam protezler kullanılmaktadır. Bu yüzden bu tedavi şeklinin hasta memnuniyeti ve yaşam kalitesine olan etkisinin araştırılması önem taşımaktadır. Hasta memnuniyeti ve yaşam kalitesini etkileyen birçok faktör mevcuttur. Bu çalışmada, bu faktörlerden yaş, cinsiyet ve protez tecrübesinin etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. 25 bayan, 25 erkek toplam 50 dişsiz hasta bu çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Tüm hastalara alt üst tam protez yapımını takiben 6 ay süreyle protezleri kullandırılmış ve bu sürenin sonunda, yaşam kalitesi ölçümü için OHIP-14, memnuniyet ölçümü için de Visual Analog Scale (VAS) formları doldurtulmuştur. Araştırmanın istatistiksel sonuçlarına göre, olguların yaşları, cinsiyetleri ve protez sayıları ile VAS ve OHIP skorları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmamıştır(p>0.05).
Complete dentures are most widely used treatment for edentulous patients. For this reason, the investigation of the effect of this treatment type on patient satisfaction and life quality is important. A lot of factors that influence patient satisfaction and life quality exist. The aim of the present study was to analyse the effect of age, gender and denture experience. 25 women and 25 men in total 50 patients were included in this study. All the patients received maxillary and mandibular complete dentures and after using them for 6 months they were asked to complete OHIP-14 forms for detecting life quality and Visual Analog Scale (VAS) forms for detecting patient satisfaction. According to the statistical outputs of the study, no statistically significance was found between the patient age, gender and denture experience and the OHIP and VAS scores(p>0.05).
