SEXUAL AND RELATIONSHIP THERAPY, 2026 (SSCI, Scopus)
This study aimed to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Gender Congruence and Life Satisfaction Scale, which measures gender congruence and life satisfaction among transgender individuals. A methodological design was used to ensure linguistic equivalence through translation/back-translation. Content validity was evaluated by expert opinion in nursing and psychosocial care. Alongside the scale, a structured form was administered to 394 trans individuals who volunteered to participate. Data were collected between 2021 and 2022. Internal consistency, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, and test-retest reliability were used to assess the scale's psychometric properties. The content validity index was 0.965 (excellent). Factor analysis supported the original seven-factor structure. The overall internal consistency coefficient was 0.875, indicating good reliability. Intraclass correlation coefficients and Pearson correlations were above acceptable thresholds. The Turkish version of the Gender Congruence and Life Satisfaction Scale is a valid and reliable tool for assessing gender-related well-being in transgender individuals.
