Abstract

An ionic liquid (salt structure) was prepared by neutralization of 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propane sulfonic acid (AMPS) with pyridine. The characterization of the salt (AMPS-pyridine) was performed using the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-1-NMR), X-ray diffraction, thermal gravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, and scanning electron microscopy.
