Abstract

© 2022 IEEE.Efficient integration of radiotherapy oncology with different hyperthermia techniques is possible with detailed theoretical and experimental investigations. This paper is aimed to determine the suitability of hyperthermia methods for use with radiotherapy by means of metrological point of view. Treatments with a generated temperature distribution at around 26 °C - 46 °C and a target fractional uncertainty has been aimed and required precise systems have been constructed. Novel hyperthermia techniques, based on high intensity Therapeutic Ultrasound efficacy have been tested in in vitro experiments which involves power delivery and temperature measurements, inside tissue mimicking material. Additionally, the repeatability of the hyperthermia methods in experiments have been demonstrated.
