Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study has been designated so as to calculate the body fat percentage and body composition, as being

the essential indicator of fatness, of the Turkish women, who are discontent with their body weights, on the basis of

their age, height, body weight, and BMI values. For this purpose, respective calculations of 1164 women, have

been applied to the fatness counseling center due to their problems with their body weights. In order to make the

respective measurement results more reliable, those of very thin women, who are below 18 years of age, and who

do sports have not been taken into consideration. This study was performed according to the screening model.

Body mass index (BMI) was calculated with body weight and height measurement. Body fat percentage and body

compositions of women were calculated by Durnin-Womersley and Siri formulas. Taking the body fat percentages

as independent variables, regression formulas have been developed the age groups, by making use of the age,

height, body weight, and BMI values. As a result of the conducted calculations, such formulas have been

developed for the calculation of body fat percentages and body compositions for all women, and for the women

from different age groups by way of making use of the age, height, body weight, and
