Özet

Antalya city is located in the Antalya section of the Mediterranean Region (Muratpasa, Kepez, Dosemealti, Aksu, and Konyaalti). Antalya city, established and having flourishing in a very important area, stands out for its physical and human geographical features. The area and the periphery of Antalya city make considerable contributions to both the region and Turkey with its various functions and geographical characteristics. Over the last 35-40 years, the city has attracted growing attention in terms of its population and settlement features such as rich history, agriculture, industry, commerce, tourism, and transportation. Therefore, the city has come to suffer from such critical issues as disrupted agricultural areas, improper land use, disappearing water resources and natural vegetation, urban sprawl, and environmental problems.
