Özet

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is a childhood tumor and can be seen in everywhere especially emerged from lungs, mediastinum and orbit. Its etiology is not known clearly but infectious and immunological factors are suspected. According to the database its incidence differs between 0.04% to 0.7%. In this case report we aimed to call attention about diagnosis of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor presenting with unexplained anemia, hyperferritinemia and persistent coagulopathy. Patient presented with fatigue, anemia and hyperferritinemia, increased levels of acute phase reactants were detected. Intermittent fever episodes and prolonged active partial thromboplastin time were also revealed during the follow up period. Abdominal ultrasonography was performed to identify the origin of fever and abdominal mass was diagnosed incidentally. After total resection of abdominal mass by surgery, high levels of acute phase reactants and active partial thromboplastin time were normalized. Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor was diagnosed by biopsy and patient was enrolled to follow up programme.
