Abstract
Alburnus demiri, new species, from Tahtali drainage, West Anatolia, is distinguished from other Anatolian Alburnus by 43-46+3 scales in lateral series, 18-21 gill rakers, a faint dark lateral stripe on body and anal-fin origin below branched dorsal-fin ray 7-8.
