Essential oils of aerial parts of the Satureja cuneifolia were extracted by simultaneous distilation-exraction and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Thy:mol was determined as the main component, comprising 35.8% of the essential oil. The other important compounds were found to be p-cymene (18.3%), gamma-terpinene (14.2%), p-cymene-2,5-dione (4.5%), oarvacrol (3.6%), beta-myrcene (3.0%) and alpha-terpinene (2.3%). In total, 30 essential oil compounds were identified from the Satureja cuneifolia, which was harvested from Canakkale-Kilitbahir Region, Turkey. The essential oil composition of species was also determined by thermal desorption GC-MS technique.
