Özet

Palliative care can be provided in whatever setting the patient wishes. Studies show that the vast majority of patients prefer to spend their final days in their own homes. Palliative care at home aims to increase the quality of life of the patient as much as possible by reducing the negative effects of the disease. Palliative care is a team effort. The community nurse is a significant part of the palliative care team. The community nurse should determine the problems of the palliative care patient with the nursing process, plan the required interventions for the determined symptoms and provide the necessary care. The nurse should provide comfort by controlling the patient’s physical and psychosocial problems in the home environment. The nurse should also provide the family with the necessary support in care and mourning.
