Etrafımızdaki pek çok anne-baba, çocuklarını istedikleri gibi yetiştirememekten şikâyet etmekte, özellikle de çocuk ergenlik dönemine geldiği zaman artık çocuğumu tanıyamıyorum gibi ifadeler kullanmaktadır. Bu durumun nedenleri olarak çocukların ahlaki gelişim özelliklerini bilmemek, çocukların mizaç biçimlerinin farkında olmamak ve ahlak eğitimini etkileyen faktörleri göz ardı etmek olabilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, çocukların ahlak eğitiminde onların gelişim özelliklerinin, mizaç tiplerinin, anne-baba tutumlarının ve sosyal çevrenin etkilerini ortaya koymaktır. Ayrıca çalışmanın somut bir çıktısı olarak çocukların ahlaki gelişimlerinin desteklenmesi amacıyla aile ortamında yapılabilecek örnek etkinliklerin sunulması hedeflenmiştir. Çocuğun zihinsel, fizyolojik ve sosyal gelişiminde aile, çevre, okul ve medya gibi pek çok faktörün etkili olması beklenir. Günümüzde gelişen teknoloji ve artan sosyal medya kullanımı ile birlikte medyanın diğer faktörlerin önüne geçtiği görülmektedir. Günlük hayatta huy diye ifade edilen kişilik özelliklerinin pek çoğunun temelinin atıldığı aile müessesesinin çocuğun ahlaki gelişimindeki rolünün güçlendirilmesi, anne-babaların ahlak eğitimi ile ilgili bilinçlendirilmesi ve çocuklara erdemli davranışlar konusunda alışkanlık kazandırılması önem arz etmektedir. Çocuğun ahlaki gelişiminin doğru bir süreç içinde gelişebilmesi, öncelikle anne babaların çocuğun büyüme dönemindeki gelişimsel özelliklerini bilmesine ve çocuğun her gelişim dönemine ait ilgi ve ihtiyaçlarını karşılanmasına bağlıdır. Özellikle de 2-6 yaş arasındaki dönemin iyi bilinmesi ve değerlendirilmesi çok önemlidir. Çünkü çocuk 5 yaşına geldiği zaman gelişim kademelerinin çoğunu tamamladığı kabul edilmektedir. Çocuğun ahlaki gelişiminde önemli bir husus da çocuğa göreliktir. Çocuğa görelik hem çocuğu anlamak ve tanımak hem de çocuğa uygun yöntemleri ve etkinlikleri geliştirmek için önemlidir. Çocuğun ahlaki gelişiminde tüm eğitimcilerin hem fikir olduğu anahtar kavram ise anne-babanın çocuğuna güzel bir örnek olması ve erdemli davranışları yaparak-yaşayarak öğretmesidir. Bunların dışında ailenin tüm fertleri arasındaki etkili iletişim ve olumlu aile ortamı çocuğun ahlaki gelişiminde ailenin rolünü güçlendiren diğer önemli öğelerdir.
Many parents around us complain about not being able to raise their children as they want and use expressions such as “I can't recognize my child anymore”, especially when the child reaches puberty. The reasons for this may include not knowing the moral development characteristics of children, not being aware of the different characters of children and ignoring the factors affecting moral education. The aim of this study is to reveal the effects of developmental characteristics, character types, parental attitudes and social environments on children's moral education. In addition, as a concrete output of the study, it is aimed to present exemplary activities that can be done in the family environment in order to support the moral development of children. Many factors such as family, environment, school and media are expected to affect in the mental, physiological and social development of the child. Today, with the quickly developing technology and the increasing use of social media, it is seen that media is ahead of other factors. It is important to strengthen the role of the family institution in the moral development of the child, where many of the personality traits expressed as “characteristic” in daily life are established. It is also vital to raise the awareness of parents about moral education and to give children a habit of virtuous behavior. The development of a child’s morality in a correct process primarily depends on the parents knowing the developmental characteristics of the child during the growth period and meeting the interests and needs of the child in each developmental period. In particular, it is very important to know and evaluate the period between the ages of 2-6 as when the child reaches the age of 5, it is accepted that he has completed most of the developmental stages. Another important issue in the moral development of a child is “according to the child.” Acting in accordance with the child is important both for understanding and getting to know the child and for developing appropriate methods and activities for the child. The key concept that all educators agree on in the moral development of the child is that parents should set a good example for their child and teach virtuous behaviors by carrying these behaviors out themselves. Apart from these, effective communication between all members of the family and a positive family environment are other important elements that strengthen the role of the family in the moral development of the child.
