Globalization and technological advances have brought about industrial revolutions that have profoundly shaped and transformed human history. Each industrial revolution has radically changed social and economic structures; it has created a wide area of influence from production methods to workforce dynamics, and even the daily lives of individuals. These revolutions have con- sisted of various stages, starting from the use of steam engines, to the develop- ment of complex machines operating with various energy sources, and then to the widespread use of robots with the introduction of computers into our lives. Recently, the transformation in production processes carried out with artificial intelligence and autonomous robots stands out as the most obvious representative of Industry 4.0. In this research, the relationship between the technological components of Industry 4.0 and control activities was examined through a survey study. This research covers companies operating in the Telecommunication, Insu- rance, Informatics and Banking sectors under the supervision of the BDDK, which are traded on Borsa Istanbul, due to the intensive use of technological components. It has been observed that the adaptation of businesses that have completed their digital transformations to Industry 4.0 technological compo- nents positively affects their control activities. In the analysis, a positive and statistically significant relationship was found between the use of Industry 4.0 technology components and control activity performance. It was observed that the sectors within the scope of the study made investments in digital areas and started to use the technology components of Industry 4.0. In addition, a series of suggestions were developed on the subject.
Küreselleşme ve teknolojik ilerlemeler, insanlık tarihini derinden şekil- lendiren ve dönüştüren sanayi devrimlerini beraberinde getirmiştir. Her bir sanayi devrimi, toplumsal ve ekonomik yapıları köklü biçimde değiştirmiş; üretim biçimlerinden işgücü dinamiklerine, hatta bireylerin gündelik yaşam- larına kadar geniş bir etki alanı yaratmıştır. Bu devrimler, buharlı makinelerin kullanımından başlayarak, çeşitli enerji kaynaklarıyla çalışan karmaşık maki- nelerin gelişmesine, ardından bilgisayarların hayatımıza girmesiyle robotların yaygınlaşmasına kadar çeşitli aşamalardan oluşmuştur. Son zamanlarda ise yapay zeka ve otonom robotlarla yürütülen üretim süreçlerindeki dönüşüm, Endüstri 4.0’ın en belirgin temsilcisi olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu araştırmada, Endüstri 4.0’ın teknoloji bileşenleri ile kontrol faaliyet- leri arasındaki ilişki anket çalışmasıyla incelenmiştir. Bu araştırma, teknoloji bileşenlerinin yoğun kullanımına bağlı olarak, Borsa İstanbul’da işlem gören Telekomünikasyon, Sigorta, Bilişim ve BDDK denetimindeki Bankacılık sektörlerinde faaliyet gösteren şirketleri kapsamaktadır. Dijital dönüşümlerini tamamlayan işletmelerin, Endüstri 4.0 teknoloji bileşenlerine adaptasyonunun kontrol faaliyetlerini olumlu yönde etkilediği gözlemlenmiştir. Yapılan analizde, Endüstri 4.0 teknoloji bileşenlerinin kullanımı ile kontrol faaliyetleri performansı arasında pozitif ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamındaki sektörlerin dijital alanlara yönelik yatırımlar yaptığı ve Endüstri 4.0’ın teknoloji bileşenlerini kullanmaya başladıkları görülmüştür. Ayrıca, konuyla ilgili bir dizi öneri geliştirilmiştir.
