In each country, nationalism has its own specifics, which largely depend on the specific place, time and circumstances. The ideology of nationalism of the Republic of Korea has evolved under the influence of various factors and at the present stage represents a unique phenomenon. It was the ideology of nationalism that gave rise to a special type of thinking of the Koreans, their national character, culture, and state ideology, which allowed them to achieve certain successes.The comparative historical and problem-centred chronological methods are the main methods in this study. In addition, the author uses the method of content analysis when studying the texts of documents in order to identify the conceptual foundations of nationalism. There are no comprehensive studies on the ideology of the active figure of the Republic of Korea, Kim Gu, in Eurasian Korean studies, which makes the work demonstrate obvious novelty. In the course of the study, the author comes to the corresponding conclusions. Historically, Korea was dependent on foreign policy, which influenced the formation of nationalist views among the political elite. The peculiarities of the development of the Republic of Korea have led to the division of its political forces into two main groups, which form the foreign policy course within the framework of a general paradigm characterized by a nationalist context, as well as the desire to ensure the sustainable development of the country and security in the region.
