Isolation and investigation of the Novel Serratia fonticola bacteria with inhibitory effect against Botrytis cinerea

Özet

Botrytis cinerea is a fungal pathogen that has a wide target area worldwide and can cause heavy economic damage. With its genetic modification ability, cases of resistance to high-dose drugs have been recorded. In addition to suppressing the spread of the disease on this pathogen with biological control applications, the negative effects of drug applications on the environment can be regulated. In our study, a Serratia fonticola bacterium that can be used against the pathogen was isolated from disease-affected areas and its cellular and noncellular antifungal effects were investigated. Inhibition effects on the pathogen were confirmed in petri dishes and minimal inhibition concentrations (MIC) were rated with spectrophotometric analysis. In in vitro experiments, on the 3rd, 7th and 10th days of application, an inhibition effect of 80, 70 and 65 percent was observed, respectively. In the analysis performed with the KEGG database, the positions of gene sequences with inhibition effects in the genome were determined. Active synthesis of endoglucanase/cellulase enzymes with known inhibitory effects by the isolate was confirmed by experiments. In order to observe its interaction with the microenvironment, its development in different conditions was examined and its interaction with microflora was determined. It is thought that the data obtained may shed light on the storage and application conditions of effective biopreparation combinations that can be applied.
