Abstract

Study area centrally located on the Northern Shelf of Marmara Sea. The area between the southern exit

of Istanbul Strait and the Büyükçekmece was investigated. This study was based on the evaluation and

interpretation of the seismic and microbathymetric data. As a result, presence of a basin was not

affected at between the Büyükçekmece and the canyon of Istanbul Strait because where is western of

block boundary fault. Moreover it is also possible to state that the pressure. this area represent late

miocene folding units.
