Abstract

Sultan I. Alaaddin Keykubat has an important place among Anatolian Seljuk Sultans in terms of life, conquests and reconstruction and settlement activities in the cities he conquered. Especially after the conquest of Alaiye, the foundation works he made in this city have taken place in many historical sources and some of them have been transferred to the present day.

In this research, the short life story of Sultan I Alaaddin Keykubat and the foundation works in the Anatolian cities conquered are based on the 8-volume book called Evkâf-ı Ümem Tarihi, which was copyrighted by Muhammed Vâmık Şükrü Efendi in 1940, which is not known or used in history studies. The foundation works of not only Alaaddin Keykubat, but also the notables of the state and the beneficiaries were tried to be presented at least as a list. In Evkâf-ı Ümem Tarihi, there are records and lists of important information from the Turkish states that emerged in the pre-Islamic period to the history of the political, administrative, economic, military and foundation belonging to the Seljuk State and the Ottoman State. The third volume of the eight-volume work is dedicated to the Seljuk Sultans and foundation works.

It introduces the Evkâf-ı Ümam Tarihi, which is an important resource for the Seljuk History Researches targeted by the research, and provides detailed information about the works of the first Aladdin Keykubat and its period, especially the subject of the symposium. In addition, it is aimed to lead the researches by promoting the sources of the information in this work. Moreover, emphasis is placed on the historical potential of Alaiye, which has been inherited from the Seljuks.
