Gu¨nu¨mu¨zu¨n vazgec¸ilmez iletis¸im aracı haline gelen cep telefonları, teknolojik ilerlemenin getirdigˆi yenilikler ile cepte tas¸ınan bir bilgisayar haline gelmis¸tir. Gu¨nu¨mu¨z mobil telefonlarının sagˆladıgˆı is¸levsellikler, insanların bu teknolojik arac¸larla oyun, sosyal medya ve internet gibi ihtiyac¸larını sagˆlayabilmektedir. Bu aras¸tırmanın amacı; 2015-2016 egˆitim-o¨gˆretim yılı gu¨z do¨nemi Kilis 7 Aralık U¨niversitesi Egˆitim Faku¨ltesi ile Mu¨hendislik ve Mimarlık Faku¨ltesi’nde o¨gˆrenim go¨ren o¨gˆrencilerin mobil telefon kullanım profillerini ve mobil telefon bagˆımlılık du¨zeylerini farklı degˆis¸kenler ac¸ısından incelemektir. Betimsel bir c¸alıs¸ma olan bu aras¸tırmada veriler, Bianchi ve Phillips (2005) tarafından gelis¸tirilen “Problemli Mobil Telefon Kullanım O¨lc¸egˆi” kullanılarak toplanmıs¸tır. Bu aras¸tırma ic¸in Cronbach-alpha gu¨venirlik katsayısı 0.88 olarak bulunmus¸tur. Aras¸tırmanın o¨rneklemini kolayda o¨rnekleme yo¨ntemi ile sec¸ilen toplam 299 birinci sınıf o¨gˆrencisi olus¸turmaktadır. Katılımcılara ilis¸kin demografik bilgiler kis¸isel bilgi formu ile elde edilmis¸tir. C¸alıs¸mada elde edilen veriler SPSS 18 istatistik programı ile degˆerlendirilmis¸tir. Verilerin analizi ic¸in yu¨zdelik ve frekans tablosu, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma gibi tanımlayıcı istatistikler ile bagˆımsız gruplar t-testi, tek yo¨nlu¨ varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve Tukey c¸oklu kars¸ılas¸tırma testi kullanılmıs¸tır. Aras¸tırma sonucuna go¨re, o¨gˆrencilerin mobil telefon bagˆımlılık durumlarının cinsiyet, o¨gˆrenim go¨ru¨len faku¨lte, sosyo-ekonomik durum ve mobil telefon sahip olma yılına go¨re anlamlı du¨zeyde farklılas¸madıgˆı go¨ru¨lmu¨s¸tu¨r. Gu¨nlu¨k mobil telefon kullanım su¨resi ve bas¸at mobil telefon kullanım amacına go¨re ise mobil telefon bagˆımlılık durumlarında anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmis¸tir.
Mobile phones have become an indispensable communication tool at present. Innovations coming with technological improvements turned mobile phones into computers that can be carried in pockets. People can meet some needs such as playing games, using social media and the internet with functionalities provided by today's mobile phones. The purpose of this research is to examine the profiles of mobile phone usage and addiction level of the students who study in Education Faculty and Engineering Faculty of Kilis 7 Aralık University in fall semester of 2015-2016 academic year in terms of different variables. The data in this research is a descriptive method and were collected by using “Problem Mobile Phone Use Scale” developed by the Bianchi and Phillips (2005). Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient for this study was 0.88. The study sample consisted of a total of 299 first-year students selected by easy sampling method. Demographic information of participants was obtained with personal information form. The data obtained from the study were analyzed with SPSS 18 statistical software. Descriptive statistics such as percentage and frequency tables, mean, standard deviation and independent samples t-test, One—Way ANOVA test, and “Tukey's multiple comparison test” applied for the data. According to the survey, students mobile phone addiction showed that there aren't any significant difference in their gender, attented faculty, socioeconomic status and time of ownership from the mobile phone. It has been found that there is a significant difference in cases purpose of dominant mobile phone usage and usage duration.
