Özet

Deep eutectic solvents offer a sustainable and efficient alternative to traditional solvents for extracting carboxylic acids. In this study, a hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent composed of DL-Menthol and tri-n-butylphosphate (TBP) was employed as a diluent, while tri-n-octyl amine (TOA) acted as an extractant. It was found that the extraction of acetic, glycolic, and malic acids from aqueous solutions using TBP-DL-Menthol HDES reached equilibrium rapidly within 15 min. In the reactive extraction experiments, the highest yield for all three acid types was obtained with the organic mixture prepared with the lowest DL-Menthol content HDES (0.2 Xm HDES) and the highest TOA (0.852 mol.L-1 TOA) concentration used in the study. Extraction efficiencies (E%) were calculated as 83.53 %, 85.70 %, and 96.55 % for acetic, glycolic, and malic acid, respectively. The used HDES-based system offers a sustainable option for downstream separation processes in biorefinery applications.
