This article aims to evaluate previous excavations at Konya Karahöyük started in 1953 by Distinguished Professor Sedat Alp and continued for almost four decades. This summary assesses the archaeological results as ten-year excavation intervals and discusses Alp’s excavation planning, diffi- culties, and gaps in data based on available records. While evaluating Alp’s excavations, I emphasize similarities and differences between previous data and fresh results obtained from the new excava- tions started in 2022. I present data from the 2022 and 2023 excavation seasons to highlight the aim and purpose of the new interdisciplinary excavations
