Günümüz teknolojisindeki gelişim ve değişim hızı eğitimde de etkilerini göstermektedir. Bu durumun bir örneği olarak üniversitelerde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin neredeyse tamamının akıllı telefon kullanması gösterilebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversitede öğrenim gören öğrencilerin akıllı telefon kullanımlarını incelemektir. Betimsel tarama modeline göre yürütülen çalışmada akıllı telefon kullanım ölçeği geliştirilmiş ve bu ölçeğin uygulaması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen ölçeğin bağlılık, öğrenme etkinliklerine destek ve genel kullanım olmak üzere üç boyutu öne çıkmaktadır. Çalışmanın ölçek geliştirme ve uygulama aşamalarındaki örneklemini İstanbul Üniversitesi Teknik Bilimler Meslek Yüksekokulunda öğrenim gören 620 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Akıllı telefon kullanım ölçeğine yönelik öğrencilerin görüşlerinin karşılaştırılmasında Bağımsız gruplar t testi, Tek yönlü varyans analizi, Kruskal Wallis H ve Mann Whitney U testine başvurulmuştur. Çalışma kapsamında elde edilen bulgulara göre cinsiyet değişkenine göre kız öğrencilerin lehine bağlılık alt faktöründe anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca yaşı daha küçük olan öğrencilerin kendilerinden daha büyük yaş grubundaki öğrencilere göre akıllı telefonlara daha fazla bağlılık hissettiği sonucu elde edilmiştir. Son olarak sınıf, öğrenim türü ve öğrenim görülen program değişkenlerine göre ölçeğin tamamında veya alt faktörlerinde anlamlı farklılığa rastlanılmamıştır. Çalışmanın önerileri arasında, üniversite öğrencilerinin akıllı telefon kullanım sıklıkları göz önüne alınarak, öğrenme etkinliklerinin bu teknolojiye uygun uygulamalarla desteklenmesi sağlanmalıdır. Ayrıca bu tür çalışmaların daha sık bir şekilde yapılması, öğrenenlerin akıllı telefona yönelik tutumlarının daha kolay gözlenmesine imkan sağlayabilir.
Pace of development and change in today's technology shows its effects on education. As an example of this situation, almost all of university students using a smart phone can be displayed. The aim of this study was to evaluate the university students' use of smart phones. Descriptive research model conducted in this study. Smart phone usage scale improved and this scale has been used. Three dimensions of developed scale as connectivity, support for learning activities and general using come forward. The sample of development and implementation to scale phase of the study are 620 students from Istanbul University Vocational School of Technical Sciences. Independent samples t-test, one-way variance analysis, Kruskal-Wallis H and Mann-Whitney U tests were used for comparising of the views of students for smart phone usage scale. According to the findings obtained under study in favor of female students according to gender significant differences were detected on connectivity sub-factor. Also younger students' age group feels more connected than older students' age group. Lastly, across the entire scale or sub-factors for grade, education type and education program significant differences has not been observed. Among the recommendations of the study, considering of frequency of university students' usage of smartphones, learning activities should support with applications by accordance with this technology. Additionally using more frequently scales such this type studies would permit easier to observe learners' attitude towards smartphones.
