Özet

This study introduces two complementary game-based interactive applets for learning regression. The first focuses on the mathematical dimension by turning least-squares fitting into an interactive optimization task based on the sum of squared errors. The second focuses on the inferential dimension by asking learners to manipulate data points and observe how the statistical significance of the fitted relationship changes. The applets were integrated into an introductory statistics course and later used in a classroom tournament involving repeated practice, peer interaction, and competitive gameplay. A post-activity survey indicated generally positive student perceptions of engagement, participation, and motivation. The study illustrates how game-based learning environments can make the mathematical and inferential dimensions of regression more explicit and interactive.
