In his letter, Adivar stated that McGill University (Canada) planned to publish a work called New Turkey. While Arnold Joseph Toynbee (1889-1975) was to write the introduction, Adivar intended to contribute an article introducing recent inventions and research carried out in different branches of science in the Republic of Turkey. Before writing his article, Adivar requested relevant information from the Faculty of Science. As the New Turkey project failed, neither Toynbee's introduction nor Adivar's article were published. Moreover, of the 13 institutes, only four submitted the requested activity reports to the Dean. These reports illustrate the research carried out in astronomy, experimental physics, botany, and zoology, in the Faculty of Science during the early 1950s.
