Abstract

Abstract: This paper records the recurring sightings of Naucrates ductor (pilotfish) in Gökçeada Island, Northern Aegean Sea of Türkiye, recently. Additionally, it consolidates extra observations from the Türkiye’s Aegean coasts, incorporating data citizen science observations, underscoring the significance of these records and their ecological consequences. The temporal distribution of pilotfish records corresponds with the period of spawning activity according to the ichthyoplanktonic literature.
