Abstract

After reviewing the historical evolution and process of institutionalisation of Sociology and its importance as an academic discipline in French universities, in the light of empirical and statistical data, this paper aims to examine the employment opportunities and chances of sociology graduates in job markets. It also does a comparative anlaysis of sociology course programmes and syllabuses taught and followed in French Higher education institutions such as Sorbonne, Grenoble and EHESS.
