Özet:

Discrimination against female set workers in the cinema industry produces unique results due to the specific characteristics of the sector. The cinema industry has been an informal sector since the moment it was established. The appearance of gender discrimination in this sector is also fueled by the precarious nature of project-based work, as there is no uninterrupted work.

The coping mechanisms developed by women working on set against discrimination and mobbing in this unique working environment were investigated. For this purpose, a qualitative research was planned this time, based on Leymann's 5-stage mobbing definition, which is mostly used in mobbing research surveys (quantitative). 1 editor, 1 make-up artist and art director, 1 assistant producer and decor manager, 1 set photographer and 1 costume designer, who participated in in-depth interviews through free association, taught women in different areas (self-expression and communication, social relations, work and duty, personality) through free association. and reputation, personal health) were asked to list some abstract possibilities and describe the first memory that came to their mind. They were asked to evaluate the physical, mental and economic problems arising from the conditions of the sector or from harassment or mobbing itself.

As a result of the research, women evaluated their professional experiences and emphasized that it is necessary to try to establish social support mechanisms to combat economic problems and other gender-discriminatory approaches, to build solidarity among employees in the sector, to receive psychiatric help, and to take part in solidaristic structures such as unions and professional organizations. However, today it has been revealed that these resistance mechanisms do not work sufficiently and it is difficult to get results.

Participants in the research find it positive that the definition of mobbing has now become clear and definable in the sector, and find it negative that the complaint and legal processes are insufficient.
