Biography
Ates Uslu is an Associate Professor of Political Science in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Istanbul.
Ates Uslu got a degree in International Relations at Galatasaray University (Istanbul), and he earned a Master's Degree in history at Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University, Pierre Renouvin Institute of Modern History. He obtained his doctorate in modern history within a joint PhD program between Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest, Hungary).
His main area of interest is the history of political thought, and his particular passion is for the 19th-century history. His field of research includes intellectual history and cultural history. He authored a variety of articles and book chapters in Turkish, English, French, and Hungarian on the aforementioned topics, as well as an intellectual biography of The Hungarian philosopher Georg Lukacs in Turkish.
Ates Uslu has thought several graduate and undergraduate courses on history of political thought and intellectual history.
