Ece Kilerci received her B.S. in astronomy and space sciences, and physics (double major) at Istanbul University in 2005. She completed her master's degree in physics at Bogazici University. She completed her PhD in 2014 at the Niels Bohr Institute of the University of Copenhagen with her studies on Active Galaxy Nuclei and Infrared Galaxies. In 2017, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at NTHU University, Taiwan. In 2019, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Istanbul University with the support of the TÜBİTAK 2218 program. Between 2020-2022, she continued her studies in the field of galaxies as a postdoctoral researcher with a fellowship from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Sabancı University. Afterwards, she worked as a visiting lecturer at the TGD Department of Sabancı University. In 2025, she started working as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul University.
