Assoc. Prof. Ebru YENER GÖKŞENLİ

Biography

Ebru Yener Gökşenli was accepted to the undergraduate program of the Department of Spanish Language and Literature at Istanbul University in 1999 and completed her undergraduate education in 2003. In 2007, she received her master's degree in the same department with her thesis titled ‘Analyzing the Adaptation Process of Lorca's Theatre to Cinema’. In 2011, she received her PhD degree in the same department with her thesis titled ‘Analyzing the Historical, Social and Social Diversity Reflected in the Spanish Novel after the Civil War’. Since December 2005, she has been working at Istanbul University, Department of Spanish Language and Literature. Since 2018, she has been working as an Associate Professor in the same department. Yener Gökşenli teaches Spanish grammar, prose criticism and contemporary Spanish literature at undergraduate and post-graduate levels. Her research interests include women's studies, contemporary Spanish literature, post-civil war Spanish literature, Spanish and Latin American cultures, poetry translation, and teaching Spanish as a foreign language. She has authored a number of books, book chapters, translations and articles, as well as books in English and Spanish, for which she has served as author, chapter author and editor. Among her published books, those covering the field of Spanish literature are Bullfighting in Spanish Literature and The Mid-Century Generation in the 20th Century Spanish Novel (Women Writers and the Traces of the Post-Civil War in Their Works). 

She also has book chapters on summarized Spanish grammar, as well as a book translation, Anthology of Latin American Poetry, for which she is one of the translators, and translations of poetry published in different journals. Systematic English Grammar, Systematic English Tests and Common Errors in English and Phrasal Verbs are among the author's publications in the field of English grammar.
