Biography

Gülay Günlük-Şenesen is Professor of Public Finance at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Istanbul University, Turkey. She is the Director of Istanbul University Research Center for Global Politics and Administration (GLOPAR, http://kureselsiyaset.istanbul.edu.tr/). Her publications are in the areas of security economics, gender issues (gender budgeting, women’s employment and glass ceiling), input-output modelling and. She is the co-author of the book (2017) in Turkish on Wellbeing Gender Budgeting in Turkey: “Cities without Women: Municipal Policies and Budgets from a Gender Perspective.” She is the academic coordinator of the “Human Rights Cities in Turkey Project” for Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at Lund University in Sweden & Research Worldwide Istanbul (2018-2020). She is on the editorial board of Defence and Peace Economics, The Economics of Peace and Security Journal, Economic Systems Research and Politica Economica – Journal of Economic Policy (PEJEP) (Advisory board).
