Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hikmet Kırık
Born in İstanbul at 1961, he was graduated from Communication Faculty at İstanbul University. Fallowing graduation, he studied MA at the Department of Money and Banking at İstanbul University, Faculty of Economics. 1990 he got scholarship from the Ministary of Eduction and was sent to England. He stuied at the Center for Mass Communication Research at Leicester University, where he got his MA degree with his work titled “Internationalization of Television and National Sovereignty.” His research on “Social Change in Turkey and the Broadcasting Public Sphere” he got his PhD from the Center for Communication and Information Studies University of Westminster in London.
He worked as a journalist before entered into academia. In 1998 he begun to teach at the Communication Faculty of Eastern Mediterranen University, at Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Currently, Between 2001-2007 He thought at the Communicaion Faculty of Istanbul University. Since 2007 he has been serving as a faculty member at Political Science Faculty at Istanbul University. He has been thought at various universities at postgraduate level including Stratejic Research Institute at National Defence University.
His research interests ara mainly span from: Communication and Politics, Public Spehere, Governance and Democratisation, Modernisation and Turkish Politics During Republican Era.
