I was born on January 21,1969, in Istanbul. I completed my primary and secondary education in Beşiktaş, Istanbul. In 1986, I graduated from Istanbul Maçka Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Department of Electronics, and in 1990, I graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Fisheries. In the same year, I started my postgraduate education at Istanbul University, Institute of Science. In 1993, I successfully completed the Master's Program in Aquaculture with a thesis titled "The Adaptation of Solea vulgaris Quensel, 1806 and Solea nasuta (Pallas, 1811) to Artificial Conditions." In 1999, I obtained my Ph.D. degree in Fishing Technology with a thesis on "Determination of Age and Growth of Little Tunny Euthynnus alleteratus (Rafinesque, 1810) Caught from Turkish Seas." After completing my military service in August 2000, I was accepted into Anadolu University's Open Education Faculty, English Language Teaching Program, and I graduated from this program in 2006. Meanwhile, I was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul University's Faculty of Fisheries in 2003. After getting the title of Associate Professor in October 2012, I was appointed as Associate Professor in November 2013, and finally as Professor in March 2018. I am currently continuing my work at the same faculty (Faculty of Aquatic Sciences). I am highly proficient in English, and I am married with two children.
