He was born in Kayseri in
1978.
He graduated from Adana
Anatolian High School, Ankara University Faculty of Law (bachelor's degree),
Essex University Faculty of Law (LLM with a scholarship of the Republic of Türkiye
Ministry of National Education) and Gazi University Institute of Social
Sciences (PhD). As of 29 September 2021, he has been awarded the title of
associate professor.
He worked as a candidate
officer at Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education, as a Criminal
and Criminal Procedure Law research assistant at Gazi University Faculty of Law,
as a member of faculty in Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law at Istanbul
Medeniyet University Faculty of Law and as Vice Director at Istanbul
Medeniyet University Institute of Social Sciences.
He was a visiting researcher
at the University of Cambridge Institute of Criminology (United Kingdom) (with
a TÜBİTAK scholarship), Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International
Criminal Law (Freiburg i. Br.) (Germany) and Leiden University Leiden Law
School (Netherlands) (partly with a TÜBİTAK scholarship).
He taught ‘General Provisions of Criminal Law’, ‘Special Provisions of Criminal Law’, ‘Criminal Procedure Law’, ‘Basic Concepts in Criminal Law’, ‘Criminal Law Sanctions’, ‘Human Rights Problems in Medical Law’, ‘Medical Criminal Law’, ‘Basic Concepts of Public Law’, ‘Execution and Probation’, ‘Comparative Concept Examinations in Public Law’.
He is a member of faculty in Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law at Istanbul University Faculty of Law as of 2015.
