Asst. Prof. SULTAN ZEYBEK

Dr. Sultan Zeybek is currently an Assistant Professor at Istanbul University, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering. She received her PhD in Mathematical Engineering from Yildiz Technical University with a thesis titled “Recursive Deep Learning for Turkish Sentiment Analysis” and holds an MSc in Mathematical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University.

She was awarded the TÜBİTAK 2214/A International Research Fellowship for PhD Students, and conducted research in 2019-2020, at the Autonomous Remanufacturing Laboratory, University of Birmingham (UK), focusing on robotic disassembly, intelligent remanufacturing, and AI-driven sustainability. From 2013 to 2025, she worked as a faculty member in the Departments of Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Data Engineering at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University, where she was actively involved in academic and administrative responsibilities.

She has been actively involved in several EU Horizon Europe project initiatives and has been honoured with the TÜBİTAK Above Threshold Award since 2020, receiving this prestigious distinction three times for her strong contributions to high-scoring international project proposals. These projects have focused on AI-powered robotic disassembly, remanufacturing, combinatorial optimisation, and sustainability, aligned with ICT and Green Deal priorities under consecutive Horizon calls.

Her research interests include artificial intelligence, deep learning, natural language processing, metaheuristic optimisation, predictive maintenance, and smart manufacturing within the context of sustainable systems and the circular economy. She is open to collaboration with like-minded researchers and professionals committed to advancing intelligent and sustainable technologies for real-world applications.
