Assoc. Prof. Çağrı ÇOLAKOĞLU

Biography

Born in Izmir in 1980. Became a student at Dokuz Eylul University State Conservatory in 1996 and continued his stuides of bassoon and chamber music alongside with Izmir State Symphony Orchestra bassoon instrumentalist Tolga Alpay. He attended to chamber music masterclass of Dusseldorf Philharmonic Orchestra Performer Taşkın Oray and bassoon masterclass of  Prof. Jörg Michael Thome in the year of 2000. While he was a member of chamber music band named "Camerata Smyrna", he attended the studies of solo bassoon performer Andrea Bressan of Budapest Symphony Orchestra and he performed concerts with chamber music band of Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice. In the year of 2003, he performed W.A. Mozart's Bassoon Concerto alongside with Doküz Eylül University, State Conservatory Symphony Orchestra and he graduated with the degree of honors in the same year. The instrumentalist took place in Symphony Orchestras of Dokuz Eylül University, Eskişehir Municipality, Antalya and Bursa and performed great numbers of recitals and chamber music concerts. Being successful with the master exams in the year of 2004, he continued his bassoon study with Prof. Jean Baily, honors director of Brussels Royal Conservatory. After completing his masters in 2006, he aquired certificate from Prof. Pierre Kerramas, a solo bassoon performer of Liege Symphony Orchestra of Rome and in the same year, he became successful with art proficiency exam that he attended. The proficiency in arts thesis that he completed in the year of 2009 was approved and recognised by many professors and bassoon performers across Europe. In the same year, after attending to masterclass of Prof. Pierre Kerremans for the second time, he started working as a lecturer in the field of Bassoon and chamber music at Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory in 2009. While lecturing in Istanbul University State Conservatory since 2010, in 2011 he earned the title of docent and served as Head of Wind and Percussion Instruments Main Branch Dept.
