Asst. Prof. Sinem CANIM

Biography

Sinem Canım received her BA, MA and PhD degrees from the Translation Studies Department of Istanbul University. She visited the Ionian University in Corfu as an Erasmus student during her MA study and the State University of New York in Binghamton-NY as a research scholar during her PhD study. She worked as a research assistant from 2005 to 2015 and has been working as an assistant professor at the Translation Studies Department of Istanbul University and giving courses on translation project, translation internship, writing and speaking skills for translation, student group project, localization, translation technologies,  and translation studies and interdisciplinarity at BA and MA levels. Her research interests are translation technology and its use in translation education, localization, translation project management, effective communication skills, translator’s agency and psychological turn in translation.
